Group Policy Information

Group Policy is greatly enhanced starting in Windows Server 2008. There are:

  • Group Policy enhancements (like ADMX files, replication enhancements, service enhancements, etc.)
  • GPO Starters – saves hours of work by a simple tool to create the Group Policy Objects that you need to secure your environment
  • Group Policy Preferences –  these are default suggested settings customized by IT, but unlike regular Group Policy, these can be changed by the user
  • Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM) Microsoft Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM) makes it easier for IT organizations to keep enterprise-wide desktop configurations up to date, enabling greater control, less downtime, and reduced end-user impact
